If you ever have time to look up new books or new authors this web site I came across gives you info about the story. It classifies everything in categories you click on what topic you want and it will give you a list of books and authors then you can get summaries about the work. Maybe you can come across the next best seller or new great author of the year. Before it becomes popular.

Chapter 14 Writing Process
I had parents that brought pictures (5) per teacher request and we helped the kinder students make their own books. We encouraged them to talk about the pictures they brought and we labeled them for the kids. We also asked for them to draw on a paper beside the picture of what happens or could have happened next. The students used their imagination and we helped them put it into words as simple as possible. They loved the activities and the time spent talking about pictures that were about them, family, pets, something familiar outside of the classroom.

Chapter 13 Literature Circles
Students are able to express their creativity by working in groups. Their are many activities that can be incorporated in Literature Circles such as students making their own book. Acting parts of stories/books Presentations of all sort can get other students excited and interested in reading the book of topic. It definitely gives them opportunities to have discussions with each other and with the teacher.

Chapter 12 Independent Reading
I personally enjoy independent reading, When a teacher gives you time to read a book and take notes; without having to get interrupted. I especially like it when I can find a comfortable chair or quite corner. I thinks this time comes across to a student as time to actually enjoy a book.

Chapter 11 Shared and Guided Reading
I love this part of teaching. When a teacher and students read along together by using various copies of the same book. I remember when I was little most of my teachers made reading not very interesting. I would hardly pay attention and lose focus because half the time I couldn't follow along. But when a teacher gave me a copy to follow along that made a big difference for me.

Presentation
I really enjoyed the book my group decided to go with Esperanza Rising. I was impressed on how everyone in my group came up with ideas for the presentation. Together I feel we introduced and gave a great presentation. I hope everyone in or audience (fellow students) decide to read this book written by Pam Munoz Ryan; whom I got introduced as a new author by our teacher. I love the way this author writes and captures my culture.
The presentation I observed and enjoyed most was about Ann Frank, I had read about her in High School but had forgotten with time. I liked the way the group decided to bring in a skit (re enactment) about Ann Franks Life. I thought the activity they choose to do with the class was a plus. I like how they incorporated the movie into thier presentation.

chapter 10 Read aloudFirst boxed set ever by Barbra Park
1st Graders love for someone to read aloud to them especially Junie B Jones books. This book is about a little girl that is like certain girls that can be found in anyone's class room always coming up with funny situations and ideas. A typical 1st grader. All the students in a class I substituted for paid attention and understood what I read, they could relate to this character.
chapter 10 Read aloudI love you by Jean Marzollo ages Pre K to 1 st
This book is so cute I love the pictures and how young children can read along by looking at the pictures. All the children I have read it to love it and love for me to read aloud to them over and over and over.
